Crisis Media
Training Tips and Techniques (Three-Hour) |

Dealing with
conflict, flared tempers, rampant emotions and other
serious difficulties that arise during a crisis is more
than enough for most individuals to bear. Even when a
crisis is the result of some factors outside of an
organization’s control, dealing with crisis management
is stressful enough. Having to face the media during a
crisis is even harder as individuals tasked with
maintaining media relations must ensure that their
actions and statements do not worsen a crisis situation.
Given that nearly everything one says is “on the
record” during a crisis media event, understanding how
to use appropriate training skills and techniques to
minimize damage and restore an organization’s
credibility is crucial. Our Crisis Media Training Tips
and Techniques training workshop is designed to provide
media-facing professionals with successful methodologies
to manage media relations.
The Crisis Media Training Tips and Techniques workshop focuses on equipping participants with the
essential tools and skills required to ensure that all
interactions during a crisis have a positive outcome for
an organization. Many of these training skills can also
be put to use when maintaining general media relations,
even when holding press conferences unrelated to a
crisis situation. Designed as an information-packed
training workshop, discussions related to crisis
communications and how to handle the fear of speaking in
public are also covered. These training skills enable
professionals to maintain credibility and reinforce
their organization’s image and message. Simulation
sessions are followed by group feedback sessions
designed to provide coaching from a training instructor
and other training participants. High level tips,
techniques and other skills are discussed so as to
provide easy-to-use concepts that can be applied during
any crisis. Additional time is spent working on
lecture-style training modules, individual exercises,
peer-driven discussions and group training activities.
All tips and techniques provided in this crisis media
workshop are modeled by our senior team of training
instructors.
