  Media Relations Training
There are some who mistakenly see the media as a necessarily evil. Due to a lack of understanding of the media’s importance and the valuable role they play in our society, there are many who would just as soon not deal with the media. Yet, the media functions to inform and educate the public on a variety of topics and issues. Organizations who wish to receive fair and honest coverage of their activities are wise to learn how to manage relations with the media. Maintaining strong relations with print media, broadcast media and the growing online media is imperative if a company wishes to maintain a positive image in the community. Yet, many organizations have little understanding on how to maintain these relations. With poor direction and little to no training, some organizations simply don’t know where to begin managing media relations. Our Media Relations Training is focused on providing clients with a clear action plan that enables organizations to inform members of the media, promote their products or services and deal with the media during a crisis or unforeseen emergency.

The Media Relations Training workshop is the most comprehensive training seminar in the industry focused on providing participants with the tools and skills required to successfully communicate with members of the media. Everything from how to structure a press release to ways to deal with the media during a major organizational crisis is covered. These training skills can be put to use when maintaining general media relations, announcing a newsworthy development or dealing with the difficult circumstances surrounding a crisis. All discussions in this participatory training workshop are centered on how to communicate effectively. Verbal and written communication strategies that have a positive effect on media relations are covered. During this training seminar, participants will practice skills via various interactive exercises and activities. Videotaped roleplaying and coaching is also utilized to provide individual feedback from a training instructor. Time is also spent working on media relations modules, group exercises, question and answer sessions and activities. All skills taught in this media relations workshop are utilized and modeled by our senior team of training instructors.
